How Much Time Will My Multi Engine Seaplane [MES] Rating Take?

That depends. 

  • Average times to complete the rating is about 6 - 9  hours flying time and 2 hours of ground
    • This includes the check ride
  • You should plan on having at least 4 days available to complete the rating
 
How Much Does it Cost for an MES Rating?
The cost for ground school is $40 per hour and $495 per hour in the aircraft.
 
Is the Examiner's Fee Included in the Hourly Price?
No.  You must pay the examiner separately.  The cost ranges from $250 to $450 depending on the type of Check ride.
 
Where Will My Check Ride Be?
If your rating is done in Florida it will likely be done at Jack Brown's Seaplane Base.  If the Bee is located in a different part of the country it will be done there.
